World’s first street legal Lamborghini Sesto Elemento in the works?

A rare Lamborghini Sesto Elemento might soon be spotted on the streets of the UK. Rumors suggest that one of the 10 cars produced is getting converted into a street-legal machine soon.

The Sesto Elemento or ‘sixth element’ was introduced in 2011 as a special edition track car based on the Gallardo. Initially, Lamborghini planned to build 20 units but ended up producing 10 cars only. It cost $2.92 million, and there’s a good reason for that.

The Sesto Elemento has a bespoke bodywork made from carbon composite plastic developed in partnership with Boeing. It was also the first car to use forged carbon fibre chassis and suspension elements. Thanks to its lightweight construction, the Sesto Elemento tipped the scales at just 999 kg.

The 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 engine was borrowed from the Gallardo Superleggera. It produces 562 hp and 398 lb-ft of torque that is sent to all four wheels via a carbon fibre drive shaft. Lamborghini claims a 0-62 mph time of 2.5 seconds and a top speed of 221 mph.
