New Features & Variants in Updated Kwid Lineup

Renault India launched its updated lineup of vehicles for the year 2024 today. Among the cars introduced by the French manufacturer at the event was the Kwid. The 2024 version of the Renault Kwid comes with new features and variants compared to the 2023 model. It is one of the cars that contributed to Renault’s popularity in the Indian market as a small car manufacturer. Notably, this is not a facelift but rather a 2024 version of the hatchback with feature updates. It is currently the cheapest automatic car available in India.

As mentioned earlier, this is not a facelift, and the design of this hatchback remains the same as the previous year’s version. The price for the 2024 version of the Renault Kwid now starts at Rs 4.69 lakh, ex-showroom, and goes up to Rs 5.95 lakh, ex-showroom. The pricing has remained the same; however, the brand is now offering more features than before. The first update the Kwid gets in the 2024 version is in its paint options. Renault now offers a total of five dual-tone color options with the hatchback. Three of these newly introduced options are available with the Climber version, while the other two were already offered with the car. The newly introduced color options in Climber are Fiery Red with Mystery Black roof, Moonlight Silver with Mystery Black roof, and Zanskar Blue with Mystery Black roof. Apart from this, there are no changes to the exterior of this hatchback.

The Renault Kwid also comes with more than 14 safety features offered as standard across all variants. The newly added safety features in the Kwid include a seat belt reminder for rear seats, electronic stability control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS), Hill Start Assist (HSA), TPMS, and more. The Renault Kwid has been the entry-level offering from the French car manufacturer for years now. It directly competes with cars like the Maruti S-Presso and Alto K10 in the segment. One of the major reasons why people like the Kwid a lot is its styling; Renault designed the front of the hatchback like an SUV, and customers simply loved it. It also offered more features compared to its rivals.

Renault also introduced an RXL(O) variant to the Kwid, available with both manual and AMT gearbox options. The manual version is priced at Rs 4,99,500, and the AMT version is Rs 5,44,500. With the introduction of the RXL(O) variant, the Kwid is now the most affordable automatic car in the country. The RXL(O) also gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, making it the most affordable hatchback to come with a touchscreen media NAV in the market.

Renault claims that the full range has been positioned to offer more value in terms of price and content on each variant, making it more affordable and appealing to customers. The engine in this small hatchback remains the same. The 800-cc version of the hatchback was discontinued last year when phase 2 of BS6 emission norms was implemented. The car is now available with a 999-cc, three-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 68 Bhp and 91 Nm of peak torque.
